Russophiles Unite!

Duolingo is a great resource for taking your first steps in a language or practising your existing skills. The repetition needed to make new vocab and grammar stick is a part of the language learning process that a lot of people find a bit laborious. This is where Duolingo’s great strength comes in; it turns the whole thing into a game and gives you some much more immediate goals than the usual (in my experience, anyway) ‘being good at this someday.’

 

So, why not give it a try? As you can see from the section opposite, there are plenty of other languages to choose from besides Russian.

 

In the interests of full disclosure, I’m on the team that has designed the Russian course. User feedback is built into Duolingo so do let us know if there are things we need to fix.
